Home Remedies for Age Spot Removal

Does Coconut Oil fade age spots? Does Bio Oil fade age spots? I could go on and on. There are many things one can do to lighten those dark spots. We will take a look at natural home remedies that have a track record for reducing the appearance of those annoying age spots. So let’s start looking younger now!

Lemons

People have been using lemons for years to fade age spots. If your skin is sensitive, you will want to dilute the lemon juice with water or avoid this remedy all together. You cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice into a small bowl. You can use a strainer if you want the seeds drained. Don’t leave on the skin very long, because lemons are very drying to the skin. Always use a good moisturizer afterwards. An ingredient in lemons make your skin extra sensitive to the sun, so you will want to avoid all sun exposure and use sunscreen. Make sure the lemon residue is completely rinsed off your skin.

Vitamin A And Vitamin E

Both Vitamin A and Vitamin E are great products for your skin. To use these vitamins as an age spot remedy, just break the capsules open. Once they are opened, mix with a little water. That way the consistency is not so thick. Pat a thin layer onto the skin. You don’t want to leave on any longer than 10 minutes. Make sure you rinse the mixture off thoroughly. Certain things make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so always apply sunscreen before going outside.

Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil is another good product for your skin. The Coconut Research Center (Yes, there is a Coconut Research Center), states that Coconut Oil helps prevent wrinkles, sagging skin and age spots. It has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It is loaded with antioxidants. The recommendation for skin application, is to use virgin coconut oil. You would apply the coconut oil directly on the age spots. It would take 4-6 weeks for results. Coconut Oil is a great moisturizer..

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is known for its healing capabilities. Everyone knows that Aloe Vera will help your sunburn heal faster. Aloe Vera has Auxin and Gibberellins; ingredients that are known for wound healing. You can use Aloe Vera Juice or Aloe Vera Gel. It is touted by some, as the miracle plant. Aloe Vera smoothes fine lines and improves the firmness of the skin. You may want to exfoliate the skin as well for better results. The exfoliant will get rid of the dead skin and the aloe will heal the skin.

If Your Home Remedies Have Not Worked

If you have given home remedies a try and you have not had the success you had expected, you may want to try an over-the-counter skin lightener. Many people have had great success with age spot removal creams. Hydroquinone is an ingredient found in top fade creams. It is one of the ingredients known to lighten age spots.  If you want an all natural product, Meladerm is a great choice.   Click here to see our top picks for skin lighteners!
